When Sarah is not leading ARCC programs, she works as a full time Registered Nurse at UCSF in the Pediatric Cardiac ICU. While she finds great fulfillment in this profession, Sarah enjoys spending a few months of the year out of the hospital and leading programs for Adventures Cross-Country. Here Sarah is able to put her other greatest attributes, working with teenagers and international travel, to use.
“One of my favorite ARCC memories was on the cooking class on the Thailand trip. We started the day at the local market learning about the unique ingredients that we would soon be learning to cook. Some of the students had never cooked a full meal before this day and it was incredible to see the transformation as they learned to make everything from Pad Thai to sticky rice with mangoes. Of course the fact that the food was amazing was an extra bonus! From that point forward everyone had a great sense of appreciation for the time, care and amount of ingredients that go into making the famous Thai dishes we all love.”
