30 Hours of Community Service & Rich Cultural Exposure

Celebrate a landscape of perfection, where the beauty of turquoise waters melt into captivating sunsets.  Link hands with a native and see the positive impact you can have as you work to preserve the splendor of the sea and the majesty of the lush rainforest mountains.  Share a laugh with locals as you work on a Habitat for Humanity Project, and allow the islands to return your generosity by sharing with you the “aloha spirit”; catch a wave, paddle an outrigger canoe, and sail into the sunset.

“She described the trip as life changing and her most vivid memories come back to the conversations/experiences shared with the other participants and leaders not simply the beauty of the island. The dynamic that was nurtured between the kids in her group made any task seem possible and I believe she now sees new possibilities for getting involved here at home in a way she wouldn't have before. She felt safe but challenged, comfortable but exposed to the elements, empowered but part of a greater whole. We couldn't have asked for more for her.”

What Others Are Saying

Maui Community Service with Habitat for Humanity

We travel to the majestic island of Maui where we work with Habitat for Humanity, spending meaningful half days constructing, painting, and landscaping homes for families in need.  Working hand in hand with locals, we learn about the rich island culture and are welcomed with open arms as ohana (family in Hawaiian).

Maui Surfing, Snorkelling, and Hiking

After each morning of community service work, we enjoy the afternoon by taking in Maui’s diverse landscape through a variety of exciting activities.  With the instruction of professional surf instructors, we learn the basics of the sport that Hawaiians made famous.  We spend time exploring the natural splendors of the sea and land through snorkeling and hiking adventures.  The rich ecosystem of Maui allows us to learn from the diverse landscape as we hike through the lush rainforest and get snorkel on the colorful reef of Maui.

Kauai Community Service with the Surfrider Foundation

We say farewell to Maui and take a short flight to the island of Kauai.  The ocean is at our fingertips while camping at a private beach in Hanalei Bay, a beach acclaimed as one of the most beautiful in the world.  Working with the Surfrider Foundation, we help restore Kauai’s bountiful ecosystem, newly by the influx of tourism in Kauai.  We learn why it is important to preserve the land and ocean, and with this knowledge do meaningful work to preserve this paradise.

Surfing Hanalei Bay, Outrigger Canoe, and Zodiac Tour

We take a break from our service work to improve on the surfing skills we learned in Maui.  With professional surf instructors, we practice our skills in more advanced waves.  Our water adventures continue with a day of traditional outrigger canoeing. Taught by native Hawaiians, we learn the art of outrigger canoeing, an important part of Hawaii’s culture for centuries.  We explore the stunning Na Pali Coast on a zodiac raft tour where we discover enchanting sea caves, waterfalls, and secluded beaches.  Snorkelling the reef of Hawaii, we witness the stunning underwater paradise where an array of fish and species thrive.

Sunset Sail

We bid “mahalo and aloha” (thank you and goodbye) to the island with a sunset sail.  As we watch one last sparkling sunset together, we celebrate all that we accomplished and learned on this meaningful journey to the islands.
