Explore Yosemite National Park

Our adventure begins in San Francisco, CA, where we meet our group and then depart for the splendors of Yosemite National Park. We spend the next two days exploring the dazzling sites of Half Dome and Yosemite Falls, taking the opportunity to cool off with a dip in the picturesque Tuolumne River.

Lake Tahoe Restoration Service Project with Trout Unlimited

Next we travel to Lake Tahoe, where we spend three days working and playing hard! We join Trout Unlimited on a restoration project aimed to preserve the vitality of the creeks and streams essential to the health of the beautiful trout and other freshwater fish of the region. We also have plenty of time to explore the lush forests, clear rivers, and sapphire blue lakes which make Tahoe a premier destination.

Kayaking Cache Creek

We travel through old gold mining territory on our way to Cache Creek. Tumbling from the lush coastal mountains, Cache Creek is the perfect place to play in the summer heat. Here we learn to safely navigate our inflatable kayaks through classic Class III rapids like Mother and Jaws on an exciting day on the river!

Golden Gate Parks Conservancy Service Project and Surfing Classes

We drive to Marin County, just north of San Francisco, where we spend the next several days exploring, working, and playing! For two days, we work on an environmental service project with the Golden Gate Conservancy. Dedicated to restoring the landscape of Northern California’s pristine coastline and beautiful Redwood forests, we spend two days with experts who lead us in a meaningful project.

We spend an exciting morning learning the exhilarating sport of surfing. The perfect place for beginners and experienced surfers alike, we spend a day learning to catching gentle waves, and soaking up the midday summer heat of California.

Serve Meals to San Francisco’s Homeless & Discover San Francisco

Featured in the movie “The Pursuit Of Happyness”, the Glide Foundation helps the impoverished of San Francisco rise above their current circumstances through a free meal program and technical job training. The free meal program, served 365 days a year, is an integral part of helping alleviate poverty and suffering for people of all ages. We spend an evening sharing meals, smiles, and stories with these children, men, and women, as we brighten their days, and our own!

We spend an afternoon exploring the famous sights of San Francisco including the ever-popular Fisherman’s Wharf, and at night we camp on the shores of San Francisco Bay.

Marine Mammal Center Learning Project

On the final day of our adventure, we join The Marine Mammal Center for a morning of education about marine mammals. Led by marine science experts, we engage in hands on classes and labs that replicate research done by scientists. We take the opportunity to learn about x-rays, hematology, marine mammal tracking, and marine mammal radiology.

We have the afternoon to relax at the beach and celebrate all of our accomplishments of the past two weeks! Enjoying a California style cookout, we enjoy one last sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
