Claire Sutton

ARCC Leader Since: 2017
Programs as a Leader: Asia Gap
Education: Boston University – B.S. in Film and Television Studies

Claire grew up in Menlo Park, CA and after spending 18 years in the Bay Area bubble she was ready to see what the East Coast had to offer and received a BS, magna cum laude, in Film and Television studies from Boston University. After graduating from BU she carved out the time to have my own gap year experience. She lived at home, worked her butt off and saved money to be able to fund a two-month solo trip down the western coast of South America and a semester living outside with NOLS. She then served as a mentor and tutor in an underserved public middle school in Denver, CO with Americorps. She then drove a little further west (Leadville, CO) and a little higher up (10,200ft!) into the mountains to participate in the High Mountain Institute (HMI) teaching apprenticeship program. Fun facts: Pho and Vietnamese iced coffee make-up one of her all time favorite meals, and by the end of this year she will have been to over 35 countries!
