Eric was born and raised near Detroit, Michigan. He attended Grand Valley State University, where he had an incredible opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of his university’s first service-learning study abroad program in Ghana. After college he joined Teach For America and spent four years teaching biology, history, government, and geopolitics to high school students in the borderlands of New Mexico. He ultimately found himself living and teaching English for a year in Ibarra, Ecuador. Aside from traveling, he is an avid reader and runner. He is a huge fan of the Detroit Red Wings (LGRW!) and love hiking, camping, strong coffee, and spontaneous road trips.
